Arun Developer and Partner Charter Plus

Proud supporters of the original Bognor Regis Regeneration Charter, Sime Darby welcome the extension of the original scheme as it enters into its second phase and are happy to be a part of the initiative. We are now exploring ways of reducing our environmental impact in line with the additional elements included in Charter Plus. Sime Darby has been keeping a log of the numbers of local companies and individuals who have been involved in the Lec Site work. Recent successes include the demolition contractors, Brown and Mason. They employed ten local people in a variety of jobs ranging from administration to machine drivers during the asbestos removal and demolition works. They said that the standard of local labour was very good and found them to be an asset to the clearance operation. The remediation contractor, Celtic Technologies Ltd, also used local people on site - 3 machine operators and 5 labourers comprising a total of 43 weeks of work to date with a further 20 weeks still to run.
